The President of the Republic Francisco Sagasti on Tuesday conveyed his greetings, respect, and recognition to the Bicentennial teachers on this very special day for teaching.

Via Twitter, the Head of State thanked their commitment to the development of education and for the day-to-day training of future Peruvian citizens.

"My greetings, respect, and recognition to Bicentennial teachers on this very significant day for teaching," the President wrote.

"Thank you very much for your commitment to the development of education and for training —every day— the future citizens of Peru. #DiaDelMaestro (Teacher's Day)," his tweet reads.

Teacher's Day in Peru is celebrated on July 6, in honor and recognition of all teachers —at different educational levels— who fulfill the important task of training new generations.
