The President of the Republic, Jose Jeri, stated on Tuesday that his government reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the Peruvian Navy, providing it with budget, equipment, and technology so that it can continue carrying out its duties for the benefit of the nation.

"We publicly reaffirm our commitment to strengthening this historic institution, with budget, equipment, and technology that contribute to the training of the Peruvians who are educated here," he stated.

The top official mentioned that the Navy is a guardian institution of the homeland, where service to the country, ethics, and integrity prevail —values embodied in the life of Miguel Grau, the Gentleman of the Seas and Peruvian of the Millennium.

"At this ceremony, our government acknowledges the essential role that the Navy plays in our national development and integrity, as well as in serving the most remote vulnerable areas, thereby always extending the presence of the State," he said.

On another note, the Head of State recognized the newly-graduated ensigns, highlighting the hard work and effort they demonstrated during their academic training.

"I trust that you will follow in the footsteps of their predecessors, reaffirming their commitment to carrying out their work for the development of the country," Jeri stated.

"Together, we are steering this nation called Peru toward a safe harbor, where peace, unity, and security are the pillars of our progress," he added.
