met with Indonesia's Coordinating Minister for Maritime and Investment Affairs, Luhut B. Pandjaitan, with whom it was agreed to continue holding bilateral meetings so as to exchange experiences that facilitate Peruvian development.
"It was a very important meeting because we have been able to see how Indonesia has grown as a country," Mrs. Boluarte said in remarks to TVPeru.
The Head of State indicated that the Asian country has based its progress on six axes: industrialization, digitalization, honest economic management, education, decarbonization of the environment, and interconnection.
The meeting took place within the framework of the
Fourth Meeting of Heads of State and Government of Countries Signatory to the Amazon Cooperation Treaty (ACT) held in the Brazilian city of Belem do Para.
"We have agreed that next week, via zoom, technical and professional officials from Indonesia can get interconnected with technical officials from Peru so as to gain that experience and start working on the industrialization (of the country)," Mrs. Boluarte announced.
The top official affirmed that Peru must bet on the industrialization of those raw materials existing in the national territory, so that they can be used in technological products.
Awaiting Lula's response
"He has gladly thanked (us for) the invitation; we hope that he will be giving a response soon," she expressed.
Regarding her participation in the Amazon Summit, Mrs. Boluarte said Peru has emphasized that "all the work on defending the Amazonia must be focused mainly on how we serve the people, human beings."
Concerning the agreement to be signed by the top dignitaries participating in this meeting, Peru's president indicated that there are eight topics on which consensus has been reached so far.
