Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra delivers his Address to the Nation from Parliament headquarters on the occasion of Independence Day celebrations.

As is known, Peru celebrates today the 199th anniversary of its Independence from Spain.

It must be noted that official activities linked to the anniversary have been arranged taking into account the health emergency currently in place in the South American country.

Within this framework, the Head of State is expected to address the measures against the COVID-19 pandemic and the main announcements for the coming year exercising power.

This is his third Address to the Nation on such date since he took office on March 23, 2018, to replace resigning Pedro Pablo Kuczynski. His term in office will come to an end in July 2021.

In addition, the ceremony saw the participation of Prime Minister Pedro Cateriano and State ministers, who joined in remotely.
