Peru's PM participates in Presidential Summit of South American Countries

Peruvian Prime Minister Alberto Otarola and Foreign Affairs Minister Ana Cecilia Gervasi take part in the opening event of the Presidential Summit of South American Countries held in Brazil.

Said summit was convened by Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, with the aim of promoting regional integration.

Within the framework of said meeting, the Cabinet chief received the fraternal greeting from the Brazilian Head of State, to whom he reiterated the Peruvian Government's commitment to the South American integration.

The Peruvian delegation also includes Americas Director General Ambassador John Peter Camino and Peruvian Ambassador to Brazil Romulo Fernando Acurio.

Prior to the presidential summit, Otarola held bilateral meetings with Brazilian authorities and Ecuadorian President Guillermo Lasso, in a bid to address issues of common interest.



During said meeting, the Prime Minister pointed out that there is a democratic atmosphere within the Government of the Constitutional President Dina Boluarte.

On the other hand, the meeting with Ecuadorian President Guillermo Lasso addressed security, trade, and cooperation issues, as well as the need for Peru to receive the Pro-Tempore Presidency of the Pacific Alliance
