Prime Minister Mirtha Vasquez on Thursday said she hopes that Congress —in today's session— will make the best decision for Peru, thinking about governability, with regards to the confidence vote.

"We arrive at the session, and we hope that Congress will make the best decision for the country thinking about governability," she said upon entering Parliament headquarters to participate in the plenary session, in which legislators debate on the vote of confidence.

As is known, the plenary session on October 25 —which was aimed at debating the confidence vote—
was suspended due to the passing of parliamentarian Fernando Herrera.

According to Article 130 of the Constitution, the presentation of the Ministerial Cabinet must take place within 30 days after having been sworn in to office.
