Peru's Prime Minister meets with Spanish Senate Speaker

Peruvian Prime Minister Alberto Otarola on Monday met with the Spanish Senate Speaker Ander Gil, as part of his activities in the Iberian country.

The meeting also featured Peruvian Foreign Affairs Minister Ana Cecilia Gervasi. They both conveyed the greetings from the Constitutional President of Peru Dina Boluarte.

For his part, Ander Gil highlighted that Spain and Peru enjoy excellent bilateral relations based on dialogue, economic ties, and cooperation.

The authorities also discussed the common agenda between the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) and the European Union (EU), in which they highlighted Peru's leading role in environment matters and the protection of the Amazon.

The meeting concluded with an invitation for Ander Gil to visit Peru, given the interest shown by the Senate Speaker in the South American country's tourist and historical heritage.

The Peruvian Prime Minister began his working trip in Spain, where he spurred a new wave of investment and companies renewed their confidence in Peru, as well as in the Government of President Dina Boluarte.

As part of his agenda, Otarola will later head to France, where he will participate in the Meeting of the OECD Council at Ministerial Level (MCM) on June 7 and 8 in Paris.
