Peru’s Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) will facilitate the execution of investment projects in regional and local governments and ministries, said today the new minister of Economy and Finance, Mercedez Aráoz.
“We should facilitate the management of the regional and municipal governments and also the ministers', who define their politics in socially profitable works,” she said.
However, she mentioned that this facilitation should be done once all the phases of the National Public Investment System (SNIP) are completed.
She said that during her administration, replacing Luis Carranza, she will try to avoid problems in the execution of investment projects in the regional and local governments.
Araoz, current Production minister, said she will take the position of Economy and Finance Minister as a challenge, as she did with her prior positions (Minister of Production and Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism).
