For the 27th edition of the World Travel Awards, Peru competes to be the Leading Natural Tourist Attraction in South America with its candidate: Arequipa region-based Colca Canyon
, as well as Leading Beach Destination with Mancora in Piura region.
It also participates in the following categories: Leading Airport, Adventure Tourism Destination, Business Travel Destination, City Break Destination, City Destination, Cruise Destination, Culinary Destination, and Cultural City Destination, among others.
In addition, Peru's Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru) is running for the title of best tourist office in South America —an award it has obtained for the last three years in a row.
