The voice of renowned Peruvian tenor Juan Diego Florez captivated guests during a gala concert at Moscow's Red Square on the eve of the 2018 FIFA World Cup inauguration.
As part of the festivities before soccer's major tournament begins, organizers asked
Florez to participate along with other global opera stars such as Spanish Placido Domingo.
The musical extravaganza featured other prominent artists like Anna Netrebko, Yusif Eyvazov, Ildar Abdrazakov, Aida Garifullina, and Albina Shagimuratova.
Accompanied by the
Mariinsky Theatre symphony orchestra, the performances were directed by Russian conductor Valery Gergiev.
"I'm happy to perform at Moscow's Red Square today as part of the gala concert prior to the 2018 World Cup,"
the Peruvian tenor posted on Twitter.
