Ambassador Martinetti sworn in as Peru’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs

Ambassador Eduardo Martinetti was sworn in as new Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister of the Republic of Peru, succeeding Claudio de La Puente Ribeyro in that post.

The oath-taking ceremony was presided over by Peru’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Ana Maria Sanchez, who highlighted his personal, professional skills, prestige and experience.

Sanchez noted Martinetti’s performance as Director of Border Development and Integration, post that thanks to his effort and dedication enhanced the sector’s fruitful and instructive presence in eight regions, 27 provinces and more than 123 districts.

The Ministry’s participation is demonstrated in the government’s efforts to achieve economic development and social inclusion in remote border regions by promoting the State’s presence.
 
The chancellor also lauded outgoing Deputy Minister Claudio de la Puente, by outlining his intense diplomatic activity, focused on the implementation of Peru’s foreign policy strategic goals, which in turn enable to strengthen the efficient insertion and position of Peru in its neighboring, regional and global environment.

The ceremony took place at the Torre Tagle Palace and saw the participation of former Foreign Affairs Ministers Allan Wagner, Gonzalo Gutierrez, Eda Rivas, as well as congress members.
