underwent COVID-19 screenings at the Army Headquarters in Lima.
The event was part of Thani Operation, aimed at benefitting the professionals who have been providing unconditional support to the nation since the start of the ongoing emergency last March.
Health Minister Pilar Mazzetti led the event and publicly recognized all members of the Armed Forces over the efforts undertaken at times of pandemic.
"We have been standing united with the Army fighting an atypical war since the beginning of the health crisis. Today, we are all Army, and I call on you to continue fighting until the last citizen is immunized," she emphasized.
"You have brought health, safety, personnel, supplies and hope to the whole Peru. We appreciate what you have done so far, and I call on you to continue the battle because we have not yet defeated the virus," she said.
'Thani' means healthy in Quechua language, and this operation aims to provide comprehensive health care services to the Army's military and civilian personnel. During the two-day campaign, around 4,000 serological tests will be conducted to detect COVID-19 and offer treatment in a timely manner.
