Peru's Grande takes 5th place in World Karate Federation ranking

Peruvian karateka Alexandra Grande moved to fifth place in the World Karate Federation (WKF) ranking, according to the latest update on the classification.

Grande has secured the fifth spot in the Female Kumite -61 kg category with 3,260 points. 

The national sportswoman expressed her satisfaction on social media after hearing the good news. 

"My points have been updated. I'm entering the second macro (stage), holding the fifth place in the WKF World Ranking. We remain on top," she said. 


The 28-year-old won gold at the Toronto 2015 Pan American Games and silver in the 2011 Guadalajara edition. 

As is known, Grande is an outstanding athlete who belongs to the Athlete Support Program (PAD) of the Peruvian Sports Institute (IPD).


Additionally, she is part of Top Peru Lima 2019, an elite group of athletes with greater chances of medal success at the Pan American Games, who receive financial support from the Government
