Peru's ex-President Kuczynski undergoes identity check, returns to Lima's Prefecture

Peru's ex-President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski on Wednesday attended an identity check hearing at the Judiciary's Third Preparatory Investigation Court for Corruption Offenses Committed by Public Officials.


The hearing took place at the headquarters of the Specialized System for Corruption Offenses Committed by Public Officials.

During the procedure, he was accompanied by Nelson Miranda —his lawyer.

The defendant's identity was verified by Jorge Luis Chavez Tamariz, head of the above-mentioned court.

Afterwards, Kuczynski returned to the National Police's High Complexity Investigations Division (Diviac), located at Lima's Prefecture, where he will remain in detention for up to 10 days.

At Diviac, he was visited by Contigo (With You) party lawmakers Gilbert Violeta and Juan Sheput.
