Police agents on Wednesday brought ex-President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski to Lima's Prefecture as part of a preliminary detention order from Peru's Judicial Branch.

Earlier on Wednesday, he was taken to the Institute of Forensic Medicine, also in downtown Lima.

Kuczynski left his house —in Lima's San Isidro district— at 12:12 P.M. in front of the media.

The former Head of State got in a white SUV with tinted windows that was escorted by several police vehicles.

He went through preliminary detention-related procedures, including a medical examination and an identity check.

About

As is known, the investigation is based on projects linked to Brazilian corruption-tainted Odebrecht company's South Interoceanic Highway Project —Stretches 2 and 3— (South IIRSA) and Olmos Irrigation Project. Both of them had been awarded to the corporation.

Back then, a group of legislators from opposition parties filed a presidential impeachment motion —on the grounds of moral incapacity— after he had survived a previous impeachment vote back in December.

This new motion was intended to oust Kuczynski for alleged links with Odebrecht.
