Peru's former President Alan Garcia remains in the operating room, Casimiro Ulloa Hospital Director Enrique Gutierrez confirmed on Wednesday morning.
In statements to the press, Gutierrez affirmed Garcia had three cardiorespiratory arrests during the operation, so doctors had to resuscitate him.
"He has suffered three arrests for which he was revived," the hospital head said.
As he explained, the surgical intervention is delayed due to the cardiorespiratory stoppages.
