Peru's CADE: We must put citizens and ethics at center of decisions

18:25 | Paracas (Ica region), Nov. 27.

Peruvian Institute of Business Administration (IPAE) Chairwoman Elena Conterno on Wednesday called on all sectors of the country to put citizens and ethics at the center of their decisions, in order to rely on a "market economy for all Peruvians."

"As entrepreneurs, politicians, authorities and leaders, we have to recognize with humility that on many occasions we had not placed the citizens or ethics at the center of our decisions," she expressed.

In this sense, the IPAE officer noted the challenge will be to reverse that situation.

"This fact not only tarnishes a company, it tarnishes the entire business sector; I want to say strongly and clearly that we vigorously reject any act that lacks transparency," Conterno stated.

"These facts dismay us; these facts remind us that we have an institutional fragility," she added.

The former Production Minister also said these unfortunate events emphasize that the benefits attributed to the market economy and the democratic system "are unfortunately not reaching out to all Peruvians."

Within this framework, she affirmed that the country has the enormous challenge of improving the quality of services and of institutionalism.

Running under the slogan "Peru: a market economy for all," this new CADE-Executives edition seeks to review the progress and pending challenges, as well as the importance of institutionalism, competitiveness, and the fight against corruption.

The event takes place on November 27-29 in the city of Paracas.
