11:50 | Busan (South Korea), Sep. 10.
The
Peruvian Navy ship BAP Union arrived in Busan, Republic of Korea, on Saturday, September 9, within the framework of the VIEX 2023-2024 foreign instruction voyage carried out by Peruvian Naval School cadets.
Lit up with the colors of the Peruvian flag, the training ship anchored in the coastal waters of Gwangalli Beach, thus illuminating the night sky in Busan.
Since the circumnavigation voyage began, the BAP Union has had the opportunity to navigate powered by wind energy, autonomy granted by its sails and rigging.
Besides, its maneuvers contribute to shaping the nautical character of future naval leaders.
Another objective of the historic navigation around the world is to disseminate, in the countries to visit, the ancient Peruvian culture and position the "Marca Peru" (Peru Brand) so as to promote tourism and the export offer.
The
BAP Union is a Peruvian pride symbol, because
it was built entirely by Peruvian workers in the South American country's main shipyard, the Navy Industrial Services (SIMA) in Callao region.
As an itinerant ambassador, it becomes a piece of Peruvian territory that brings a message of unity and friendship from Peru to the rest of the globe.
The
BAP Union will visit the following areas: Busan (South Korea), Shanghai (China), Singapore (Singapore), and Bombay (India).
It will cross the Suez Canal to continue in Alexandria (Egypt), Civitavecchia (Italy), La Spezzia (Italy), Piraeus (Greece), Toulon (France), Malaga (Spain), Cadiz (Spain), Tanger Med (Morocco), Baltimore (USA), Miami (USA), Kingston (Jamaica), and Curaçao (Netherlands).
Furthermore, it will cross the Panama Canal to arrive at Balboa (Panama) before returning to Callao in its home country, Peru.
