Peru's annual inflation hovers around center of target range

12:06 | Lima, Jan. 6.

The Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCR) reported that the 12-month rate and inflationary trend indicators were within the target range of 1% to 3% in 2019.

Likewise, the issuing entity stressed that inflation expectations were very close to the midpoint of the Central Bank's 2% target range.

Thus, annual inflation went from 2.2% in December 2018 to 1.9% in December 2019, thereby hovering around the center of the target range.

"With this result, Peru's inflation rate continues to be one of the lowest in the region," the BCR stated.
