In a statement, the JNJ said it has received 2,664 complaints from citizens regarding the events that occurred during election day on Sunday, April 12.
The release added that these complaints are being duly assessed and are under investigation, in strict adherence to Peru's Political Constitution, the law, and the regulations governing its disciplinary procedures.
In that regard, the Board said it is ensuring, at all times, due process and objectivity in the assessment of the facts.
"Within this framework, the preliminary investigation and the corresponding proceedings led by the instructing member against Mr. Piero Alessandro Corvetto Salinas remain ongoing, in his capacity as chief of the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE), in accordance with the institution's constitutional jurisdiction," the JNJ reported.
The statement further noted that the entity's plenary declared, ex officio, the nullity of the agreement for the ratification of prosecutor Gladys Maruy Fernandez Portocarrero.
It added that the immediate adoption of the corresponding administrative measures was ordered against the officials found responsible.
Moreover, the JNJ said it understands public concern over what occurred in the 2026 General Elections.
It also reaffirmed its commitment to democratic values in Peru and to safeguarding due process.
