12:37 | Ayacucho (Ayacucho region), Aug. 17.
The Regional Government of Ayacucho —through the Regional Health Directorate— delivered 18 medical oxygen concentrators to Ayna San Francisco Hospital in
the Valley of Apurimac, Ene, and Mantaro Rivers (VRAEM) to provide additional timely care for COVID-19 patients.
This medical equipment will benefit populations in La Mar, Huanta, some areas within La Convencion Province, Pichari, Villa Quinterina, Villa Virgen, and parts of Junin region.
The hand-over ceremony was presided over by Regional Health Director Elvyn Diaz, who showed the health personnel how to use the oxygen concentrators they were going to operate in order to save lives during this pandemic.
"These oxygen concentrators will provide timely care for patients suspected to have COVID-19 —with mild and moderate symptoms— at primary care facilities, since they replace oxygen cylinders for a determined period of time," the regional authority explained.
"Moreover, this equipment is fundamental when a patient's condition becomes complicated and requires a transfer," she added.
The delivery event included the participation of Ayacucho Regional Council Chairman Heiser Anaya.
It must be noted that the regional government keeps implementing medical equipment in health facilities across Ayacucho.
