The Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) has authorized First Vice-President of the Republic and Development-Social Inclusion Minister Dina Boluarte to travel to Colombia for the swearing-in of President-elect Gustavo Petro.

A Supreme Resolution stated that the aforementioned event is of national interest. Therefore, Mrs. Boluarte's trip to the city of Bogota, Republic of Colombia, is authorized from August 6 to 8, 2022.

During this period, the Development-Social Inclusion sector is entrusted to Labor-Employment Promotion Minister Alejandro Salas as of August 6 and for as long as her absence lasts.

The participation in this event will strengthen the historical ties of brotherhood and cooperation between both countries —through constant political dialogue, as well as the promotion of a fluid bilateral trade.

Travel-related expenses derived from participation in the aforementioned event will be covered by the Presidential Office's Institutional Budget —within the framework of the current regulations on the matter.

This Supreme Resolution was signed by Prime Minister Anibal Torres.

It must be noted that Foreign Affairs Minister Miguel Rodriguez Mackay will also travel to Colombia to participate in the neighboring country's presidential swearing-in ceremony and hold bilateral meetings within that framework.
