The National Superintendence of Migrations on Friday urged Venezuelan citizens —who plan to remain longer than the authorized period of stay— to apply for a Temporary Resident Permit (PTP) before the deadline —December 31, 2018.
Likewise, she advised Venezuelan citizens not to wait until the last moment to do so.
The official indicated the Migrations office has made 140,000 online appointments available for people who meet the aforementioned requirement.
"I urge you to start the process now. A total of 140,000 appointments are available in Lima and zonal offices. And additional appointments may be booked if necessary," del Aguila expressed.
The
PTP —issued by the Migrations office— allows Venezuelan citizens to work, study, and access basic services such as health care, within the Peruvian legislation.
It also enables their identification and registration.
"When regularizing the situation of Venezuelan migrants, the PTP contributes to internal order since it reduces vulnerability conditions. Plus, it allows them to join the country's workforce and access services," the official explained.
