The Executive Branch has announced the termination of the designations of Oswaldo de Rivero Barreto and Daul Jesus Enrique Matute Mejia as Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Peru to the United States of America and the Republic of Korea, respectively.

Said provision was established via Supreme Resolutions published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on Sunday.

The corresponding documents were signed by the President of the Republic Pedro Castillo and Foreign Affairs Minister Cesar Landa.

Rivero Barreto had been designated as Ambassador to the United States on October 13, 2021. The date marking the end of his duties will be set via Ministerial Resolution.

On the other hand, Matute Mejia had been appointed on December 13, 2017.

According to another Supreme Resolution, Matute Mejia will be retiring on December 24, 2022, as he will turn 70 on that date.

The Executive Branch thanked both diplomats for the important services rendered to the nation with the performance of their duties.
