Peru’s Supreme Court confirmed the constitutionality of the
annulment of the
humanitarian pardon granted to former Peruvian President Alberto Fujimori on December 24, 2017. Therefore, he will be judged on the Pativilca case.
In this regard, it declared well founded the appeal for not applying the pardon granted to the defendant, filed by the civil party.
Likewise, it declared unfounded the appeal on his exclusion from and shelving of the process, filed by the defense of the accused and, therefore, decreed the continuation of the process.
In this way, Alberto Fujimori will be judged as the indirect perpetrator of the crime committed against six people in the towns of El Caraqueño and San Jose, located in Pativilca district in Lima's Barranca province.
The crime was perpetrated on January 29, 1992 by the Colina Group, and the Public Ministry has requested 25 years in prison for those accused.
