Peruvian Judicial Branch's National Criminal Chamber on Wednesday confirmed the
annulment of the humanitarian pardon granted to former Peruvian President Alberto Fujimori.
Consequently, Fujimori will continue to serve out the remainder of his 25-year sentence.
The National Criminal Chamber's resolution reaffirms the ruling issued by Supreme Judge Hugo Nuñez.
According to the chamber, the request and appeal submitted by Fujimori's defense were declared unfounded.
About Fujimori
After having fled to Japan and traveled to Chile —from where he was extradited to Peru— the Fujimori patriarch was sentenced for crimes against human rights and corruption committed during his term in office.
