With the firm commitment to assist the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in the aftermath of the recent earthquakes, the Peruvian Government, through the
Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM), coordinated a joint response across executive branch agencies to carry out an operational deployment aimed at providing immediate assistance to affected families.
The shipment was dispatched on Sunday aboard a Peruvian Air Force (FAP) Hercules aircraft, which departed from Air Group No. 8 in Callao region for the city of Caracas.
The logistical support will enable the delivery of essential food supplies, portable stoves, cooking pots, and personal hygiene items.
The donation also includes emergency shelter modules consisting of 50 five-person tents, metal folding beds, mosquito nets, and PVC boots to address the most urgent needs of the affected population.
The team rescued a 60-year-old woman alive after she had been trapped for nearly three days beneath the rubble of a 15-story building that collapsed in the earthquakes last week.
The successful rescue was made possible through a coordinated operation involving rescue teams from El Salvador and personnel from Venezuela's Civil Protection agency.
This swift government response reflects the coordinated efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defense, which facilitated the necessary diplomatic and operational arrangements.
The delivery of the humanitarian assistance was authorized through Supreme Resolution No. 189-2026-PCM.
These actions are consistent with remarks made earlier this week by Prime Minister Luis Arroyo, who reaffirmed Peru's commitment to solidarity and recalled the assistance provided by Venezuela following the 2007 Pisco earthquake.
"Of course we will help our Venezuelan brothers and sisters, just as they did for us," Prime Minister Luis Arroyo emphasized.
