Peru: State ministers coordinate emergency response actions in regions

16:47 | Lima, Feb. 26.

Diverse State ministers coordinate with regional and local authorities in order to assist Peruvian citizens affected due to the emergencies recently caused by heavy rains.

Health Minister Zulema Tomas is in Piura region, where she currently supervises the risk zones of Piura River's banks, after a flood set off an evacuation alert in areas Catacaos, Sechura, and La Union.

Alongside Authority for Reconstruction with Changes Chief Edgar Quispe, they plan an intervention in the area with Piura Region Governor Servando Garcia.

On the other hand, Education Minister Daniel Alfaro oversees the works carried out in Chongoyape district (Lambayeque region), where the stream was flooded due to the rains. He is joined by Region Governor Anselmo Lozano.

Likewise, Defense Minister Jose Huerta has arrived in Chimbote (Ancash region) to work with Governor Juan Carlos Morillo and mayors in order to undertake prevention and emergency response actions.

Furthermore, Agriculture Minister Gustavo Mostajo supervises prevention works in Ica region.

As is known, the Executive Branch assigned each State minister to a region so they could work with regional and local authorities on emergency coordination.
