Peru: Projects worth US$3.1 billion awarded in 2018

18:51 | Lima, Dec. 27.

Eight projects —worth US$3.1 billion— have been awarded in the mining, port, and telecommunications sectors this year, State-run Private Investment Promotion Agency (ProInversion) Executive-Director Alberto Ñecco informed Thursday.

Concerning the telecommunications sphere, the broadband package implementation for Ancash, Arequipa, Huanuco, Pasco, La Libertad, and San Martin regions has been granted.

The other two include Salaverry Port Terminal (La Libertad region) and Michiquillay Mining Project (Cajamarca region).

According to Ñecco, at the beginning of the year, 18 projects were expected to be awarded in 2018.

It should be noted the awarding is pending, as it was necessary to assess the structures in order to design better ones aimed at moving the projects forward and providing good services to the Inca country's population.

Remarks were made during the broadband package awarding ceremony.
