Peru: Prime Minister leads coordination meeting for Pope Leo XIV's visit

Prime Minister Luis Arroyo chaired a coordination meeting to prepare for Pope Leo XIV's historic visit to Peru.

The information was shared by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) on X.

The meeting was held at the PCM headquarters in Lima.

It was attended by Ministers Carlos Pareja (Foreign Affairs), Amadeo Flores (Defense) and Jose Zapata (Interior).

Also in attendance were Peruvian National Police Commander General Oscar Arriola and other senior police officials, as well as Apostolic Nuncio Archbishop Paolo Gualtieri, His Holiness' Chaplain Guillermo Inca, and Peruvian Air Force representatives.


Additionally, the cities of Puno and Iquitos are still being considered as possible destinations on the Supreme Pontiff's official itinerary.
