Peru President Vizcarra welcomes Qatar's Emir

President Martin Vizcarra on Tuesday received Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at Lima's Government Palace within the framework of his official visit to Peru.

On the occasion, the Emir was joined by 140 officials and business people. State ministers also attended the ceremony. 

The gathering was an opportunity to address priority issues on the bilateral agenda, as well as future prospects in terms of investments, trade exchange, and cooperation in sport and youth fields.


During the meeting, the Inca country and Qatar representatives signed agreements aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in diverse sectors such as Foreign Affairs in order to allow the entry into and transit through both territories without a visa for 90 days.

Similarly, Peru's National Civil Defense Institute (Indeci) and its Qatar's counterpart agreed to share experiences concerning natural disasters and humanitarian assistance.

The Emir of Qatar was joined by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani and Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani.
