Peru President visits soup kitchen facilities

The President of the Republic Martin Vizcarra on Friday visited the facilities of La Melchorita Soup Kitchen in Lima's Carabayllo district.

During his visit, the Head of State pledged to grant more economic resources in order to expand the coverage of said establishment, for the benefit of the citizens most in need.

The event took place within the framework of a compulsory social isolation imposed to prevent the COVID-19 from further spreading in the South American country.

Initially set to last from March 16 to 30, the mandatory quarantine was extended until June 30.

Friday marks the eighty-ninth day of mandatory social isolation in Peru.
