Peru: President swears in two State Ministers

The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo has administered the oath of office to two State Ministers who will lead the following sectors: Defense and Transportation-Communications.

On this occasion, the Head of State swore in Daniel Hugo Barragan Coloma as Defense Minister. He succeeds Richard Washington Tineo Quispe in the post.

In turn, Tineo Quispe was sworn in as new Minister of Transportation and Communications. He replaces Geiner Alvarado Lopez in office.

On September 16, Alvarado Lopez tendered his resignation to the Head of State.

A day earlier, most legislators had censured him during a Congress plenary session.

The latest swearing-in ceremony took place at the Government Palace in Lima on Friday evening.
