Peru President: Pension increase for retirees shows social sensitivity

President Martin Vizcarra on Thursday affirmed the increase in pension for retirees —under the 19990 Law— shows human and social sensitivity towards a group of Peruvian citizens, who will obtain a rise after 18 years.

According to the Head of State, the supreme decree was approved by the ministerial cabinet on

International Workers' Day.

"If we want a prosperous and developed country, we must think about all Peruvians, specially the ones who gave their all," the top official expressed.

Remarks were made during the 150th anniversary ceremony of 2 de Mayo School in Caraz.

On the occasion, the President was joined by Ministers Flor Pablo (Education) and Maria Jara (Transport-Communications).

Moreover, he informed Minister Jara will inspect the works being carried out in this region.
