The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Friday participated in the ceremony marking the anniversary of the political creation of Pasco.

The event took place at the Government Palace in Lima.

Pasco was founded on November 27, 1944, by Law No. 10030. It was enacted by then-President Manuel Prado y Ugarteche.

Located in the center of the country, it shares regional borders with Huanuco (north), Ucayali (east); Junin (south); and Lima (west).

Its capital is the city of Cerro de Pasco —considered the second-highest city in Peru.
