President Martin Vizcarra on Friday affirmed more than 60 bridges will be built between Piura and Tumbes regions to improve connectivity in northern Peru, especially during the rainy season.
In this sense, the Head of State recalled 18 bridges began construction stage in 2018. This year a second group of such projects —that should be completed by 2020— will be bid.
According to the top official, one of them will be built over the San Francisco stream, in Tambo Grande. The area has been flooded and left Malingas population center's citizens isolated.
This structure will be 300 m long, and the corresponding investment will be worth S/70 million (around US$21.18 million).
"(…) The bridge will be completed by 2020 and will have special features to face this problem," he expressed.
Likewise, the bid for this bridge will begin in April. The awardee will be in charge of developing the technical dossier during the remainder of the year.
