President Martin Vizcarra on Wednesday affirmed the implementation of Digital Police Records Certificate's issuing service is a step forward in the State's digitalization process, adding the State modernizes itself to provide better services to citizens.
After showing his gratitude to the State institutions that made this innovation possible, the top official urged all State organizations to keep looking for ways and mechanisms to speed up and reduce the bureaucratic procedures that waste citizens' time.
On the other hand, the statesman lamented public institutions function as "independent islands." Thus, he considered it is necessary to undertake coordination and integration efforts in procedures to reverse this situation.
Furthermore, President Vizcarra indicated that achieving said goal will not only reduce procedures' time, but also
contribute to improving citizen security, as police officers will not be responsible for carrying out the records' process.
According to him, an average of 24,000 police record certificates are issued every year.
Moreover, the Head of State mentioned police reports should become a digital procedure in the future.
On the occasion, he was joined by Interior Minister Carlos Moran and National Police Commander-General Jose Luis Lavalle.
