Peru: President meets with Central Bank chair

The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo held a meeting with Central Reserve Bank (BCR) Governor Julio Velarde at the Government Palace in Lima on Friday.

The gathering —which lasted approximately one hour— also saw the presence of Economy-Finance Minister Pedro Francke.

"(...) we discussed the important measures that the institution (the Central Reserve Bank) has been implementing and will implement within its role as a crucial agent in the stability of our economy," Mr. Castillo reported on Twitter.

Last Thursday, Minister Francke met with Governor Velarde and the Superintendent of Banking, Insurance, and Private Pension Fund Administrators (SBS) Socorro Heysen.
