President Martin Vizcarra on Friday led the 198th anniversary of the creation of Peru's Republican Army.
On the occasion, he was joined by Defense Minister Jorge Moscoso and General Commander of the Peruvian Army Jorge Celiz Kuong.
Head of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces, Commander General Cesar Astudillo; Navy General Commander Fernando Cerdan; and Air Force General Rodolfo Garcia were present in the event as well.
The Peruvian Legion of the Guard was created by General Jose de San Martin on August 18, 1821.
Today's ceremony took place in Lima.
