The President of the Republic Martin Vizcarra on Thursday inaugurated the new Villa EsSalud Chimbote—COVID-19 Care Center, located in Ancash region, for the care of patients suffering from said disease.
The Head of State specified that the new infrastructure has a capacity for 100 fully-equipped beds for COVID-19 patients and relies on more human resources for cases that may arise in that region.
"We recognize the efforts of medical personnel to expand the care capacity. We managed to set up itinerant facilities once we had reached the limits in terms of hospital expansions," he expressed.
Lastly, President Vizcarra confirmed that the Executive Branch will hold a Council of Ministers session on Friday to address the new measures that will be taken following June 30.
On this occasion, the President was joined by Ministers Victor Zamora (Health), Martin Benavides (Education), and Social Health Insurance System (EsSalud) Executive-President Fiorella Molinelli.
Thursday marks the 102nd day of mandatory social isolation in Peru.
