Peru: President Fujimori leads first Council of Ministers session

The President of the Republic, Keiko Fujimori, led the first session of the Council of Ministers of her administration at the Government Palace in Lima on Wednesday.

The meeting with the Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Luis Galarreta was held prior to the top official’s participation in the 2026 Grand Civic-Military Parade.

"We have begun implementing measures to address the country's main priorities, such as strengthening public safety. A government that works for order, security, and the well-being of all Peruvians," reads a post by the Presidential Office on the X platform.

All Cabinet ministers attended this first Council of Ministers meeting.

As previously reported, Prime Minister Luis Galarreta had announced that the first Cabinet meeting would be held today.
