President Martin Vizcarra on Friday affirmed that his administration's recent decisions were made thoroughly respecting the Constitution and thinking on what is best for Peru and its citizens.
According to the Head of State, the enormous development potential of the country cannot take off because the political class has not risen to the occasion to work and truly tackle the problems of the nation, such as
poverty and lack of basic services.
In addition, the top official said his administration laid the foundations for development by updating the
Competitiveness and Productivity Plan —presented on July 28. As a result, the National Infrastructure Plan was also submitted.
On the other hand, the statesman underscored his meeting with regional governors last Thursday.
At the gathering, they agreed on a development approach for the country and on the need for an adequate action plan based on priorities.
This effort, he said, needs the support of private investment, which creates wealth before turning into development through the State.
Remarks were made during the 1st Amazon Business Conference in Ucayali region.
