President Martin Vizcarra congratulated and expressed his best wishes to Brazil's recently-elected President Jair Bolsonaro.
"I express my willingness to work together with the aim of deepening our fraternal bilateral relations," the Head of State posted on Twitter.
With 99% of all
voting stations counted, Bolsonaro won 55.1% of the vote, whereas leftist opponent Fernando Haddad received 44.9%.
Former Army captain Bolsonaro was elected president of Brazil on Sunday, promising a fundamental change in direction for the giant Latin American country, AFP reported.
