The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte held a meeting with Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) representatives at the Government Palace in Lima on Tuesday.

During the event, the Head of State was accompanied by Ministers Ana Cecilia Gervasi (Foreign Affairs) and Jose Tello (Justice-Human Rights).

The IACHR delegation was made up of Executive-Secretary Tania Reneaum; Assistant Executive-Secretary for Monitoring, Promotion, and Technical Cooperation Maria Claudia Pulido; and Monitoring Coordinator Miguel Mesquita.

The visit by the IACHR responds to an invitation made by the Peruvian Government on December 15, aimed at contributing to peace, dialogue, and transparency of State acts in the face of the current situation in Peru.

During this meeting, the actions taken to promote calm and build bridges for dialogue were explained —in strict respect for the Constitution and democratic institutions.

Delegation members were also thanked for their presence, to whom the support of State-run institutions was offered.
