, joined by other Executive Branch officials, arrived in La Libertad region on Saturday evening to deliver aid for citizens affected by heavy rains that had recently fallen in said northern Peruvian region.
Within this framework, the Head of State highlighted the provision of grants to that sector of the population.
Once in the city of Trujillo, Mrs. Boluarte pointed out that the arrival of cisterns tomorrow, aimed at removing water accumulated due to rainfalls, will be added to aid provided in this region —plus more food supplies.
In this sense, Mrs. Boluarte indicated that Lambayeque is the jurisdiction where she has seen the worst impact from rainfall —namely in the most vulnerable people.
The Head of State affirmed her government will seek to find a solution to this situation so as to definitively prevent floods.
Similarly, she said that, supported by the contribution of experts from each ministry, this objective will be fulfilled.
Measures for victims
The President indicated that two helicopters will be assigned to each affected region so as to evacuate victims.
Besides, housing modules will be distributed for victims to sleep inside, and then —possibly— arrange for them to be transferred to another area.
The Head of State also highlighted the provision of government grants (each worth S/500 = US$132) for those victims who have lost their homes, in addition to the grant that will be provided to affected farmers.
