The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Thursday participated in the ceremony marking the inauguration of Chulucanas Hospital in Morropon province, Piura region, northern Peru.

Earlier, the Head of State arrived in Piura joined by Cabinet Chief Alberto Otarola and Health Minister Cesar Vasquez.

In her Address to the Nation on July 28, the top official reminded citizens that this public work, which entailed an investment worth over S/325 million (over US$87.83 million), was already in operation but had not yet been inaugurated.

"It started to receive the first patients, diagnosed with dengue and other diseases, supported by a medical care capacity for some 170,000 residents of Morropon province and adjacent areas. It is equipped with cutting-edge technology," Mrs. Boluarte indicated.

"Soon, we will inaugurate this new hospital, as soon as the final fit-out work is completed," she added.
