The President of the Republic, Jose Maria Balcazar, led the delivery of electronic tablets at Educational Institution No. 00533 Jose Galvez, located in Soritor district, Moyobamba province, San Martin region.

This initiative is part of the Government's commitment to reducing the digital gap and strengthening access to technological tools in public education.

"We have come to support you with these tablets, which will be very useful in complementing your education. Receive these tablets, and we will later return to provide you with additional benefits," he said before dozens of students and parents.

During the event, the Ministry of Education (Minedu) delivered 292 electronic tablets to primary school students.

The initiative aims to strengthen teaching and learning processes, facilitate access to educational platforms, and promote digital inclusion for the benefit of the school community.

The devices come with 18 pre-installed learning applications, including tools for productivity, programming, science, mathematics, digital creativity, 3D anatomy, offline educational content management, and a virtual navigation assistant.

This initiative seeks to provide students with access to digital resources that complement their education, particularly in areas where connectivity remains limited.

It also includes technical assistance and capacity-building programs for school administrators, teachers, and students to ensure the effective pedagogical use of the devices.

Educational Institution No. 00533 Jose Galvez serves 282 students across 13 classrooms and features a teaching staff composed of 17 educators.

University organizing committee

As part of his agenda in San Martin region, the Head of State also participated in the inauguration of the offices for the Organizing Committee of the Alto Mayo National Technological University (Untam).

The institution was created to expand access to public higher education and decentralize professional training opportunities in the region.

Untam represents a response to a long-standing demand from the people of Alto Mayo, whose young residents had to relocate to other cities for years to pursue university studies.

In doing so, they were required to assume additional economic, family, and personal costs.

Through both initiatives, the Government reaffirms its commitment to strengthening public education, reducing technological gaps, and expanding access to higher education in Peruvian regions.

These concrete actions are aimed at providing greater opportunities for children and youth across the country.
