Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra participated in a Thanksgiving service held by Evangelical Christ Churches of Peru as part of Independence Day official activities.

Also attending the event were pastors and evangelical leaders.

Held each year since 2006, the ceremony has become an official event celebrating the Independence of Peru since 2010.

Afterwards, Peru's top official will open this year's Civic-Military Parade marking the 197th Anniversary of Independence, joined by thousands of enthusiastic citizens.
