The President of the Republic Martin Vizcarra and Prime Minister Walter Martos currently lead a new session of the Council of Ministers.

At the event, measures to face the COVID-19 pandemic and boost the economic reactivation are addressed.

The session takes place at the Lima-based Government Palace.

Last Tuesday, Prime Minister Martos reported that an urgency decree would be approved today to facilitate the legal framework for the advance payment for vaccines against COVID-19.

He pointed out that the Executive Branch is making efforts to have the coronavirus vaccine, and that there are well-advanced negotiations with two laboratories, which are requesting such payment.
