Peru PM: Economy stable, guidelines to remain unchanged

16:11 | Lima, Oct. 2.

Prime Minister Vicente Zeballos said on Wednesday that the new Ministerial Cabinet will embrace the economic policy implemented by the current administration.

"We have a stable economy that is sensitive to global economic conditions. Obviously, these management guidelines cannot be changed," the high-ranking official told RPP TV and radio station.

In this sense, he ruled out any possibility of changing the economic policy, as some commentators have argued.

According to the Cabinet chief, the period of uncertainty has to end, so it is necessary to assure the business sector that the current administration's policies will remain unchanged.

As for the new Ministerial Cabinet, he pointed out the swearing-in ceremony is likely to take place on October 3.
